Raising money for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide

Last week we were delighted to take part in an online FIFA 21 tournament hosted by Business Fives in aid of PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide. Thanks to all your generous donations, we managed to smash our fundraising target and raise a total of £595 for the charity!

PAPYRUS is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. Their vision is for a society which speaks openly about suicide and has the resources to help young people who may have suicidal thoughts. PAPYRUS exists to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives by shattering the stigma around suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.

Led by our People Engagement Manager, Chloe Sinclair, and with support and donations from the whole studio; sprites Alex Barnes, Mikel Alabau, David Chambers and Andrew Santos offered their time to represent Firesprite in Business Five’s Esports FIFA tournament alongside SCC and superscript who were also playing for their chosen charities.

We’re very proud of our sprites and so incredibly thankful to all the donators who helped us raise money for a charity offering such crucial services. PAPYRUS noted: “By having an organisation like Firesprite supporting us, we can increase the visibility of HOPELINEUK in the games industry thus saving more young lives.”

A huge thank you again to our hosts, our sprites and to everyone who donated!
